It seems cats around the world are harbouring hidden talents…as politicians.
After it was discovered a cat had just gone into its 15th year as mayor of Alaskan town Talkeetna, a cat in Russia has run for office in the city of Yekaterinburg.
A Facebook page was set up for Bublik the kitten to announce his plans to go into politics.
Ivan Kolotovkin, owner and spokesman of the ambitious tabby, said;
“He’s the best because he’s the only politician who gives no promises.”
The pair have made no secret about the inspiration for their campaign coming from a cat in Virginia, USA called Hank who is currently running for senate.
