Gayathri from the B Team looks into the biggest and most unusual music videos and songs of all time of the Internet…Part Two. You can find Part One here.

The Lonely Island

If you don’t know who these guys are yet, you will do in the very soon. These guys are some of comedy’s biggest rising stars.

Akiva ‘Kiv’ Schaffer, Jorma ‘Jon’ Taccone and Andrew ‘Andy’ Samberg (who you may recognise from the new BBC Three sitcom ‘Cuckoo’) know each other from their work on the hit American show ‘Saturday Night Live’ and decided to collaborate by recording made up songs with big artists such as Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj.

However, the two songs you will most know them for are ‘I Just Had Sex’ ft. Akon – which is their highest viewed song to date – and ‘Jack Sparrow’ ft. Michael Bolton, both of which entered the UK charts.

Literal Videos

This classic song by A-HA was given a unique twist after one person decided to literally tell the story of the song. This started a whole trend of literal videos, others being ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’.

Ok Go

Another band from America, these guys may sing about normal things, but what’s made them so famous is their unique and rather bizarre videos. For example the song ‘Here it Goes Again’ the entire dance routine is done on Treadmills and ‘This Too Shall Pass’ (above) where the band made and filmed themselves doing a Rude Goldberg Machine in a warehouse in Los Angeles.

Red Solo Cup

Another song from America. This time it’s the country singer Toby Keith, who was rather famous in 1990s, decided to dedicate an entire song to the ‘Red Solo Cup’ (that’s red plastic cups to you and I).  He simply states within ‘you sir simply do not have a pair of testicles, if you prefer drinking from a glass’. The video managed to clock up 600,000 views before the actual release of the album and made it to number 9 in the US charts.

Hot Problems

If you thought Rebecca Black’s Friday had the worst lyrics ever- it seriously has nothing on this video. Sung by Drew Garrett and Lauren Wiley, as soon as it went on iTunes it was dubbed as the new ‘worst song ever’ (if you’re wondering why seriously watch to find out). However the girls admitted during interviews that it was just a joke for their friends and they were not intending for it to go viral like it did- and they do not think they are ‘hot’.
